Hello,

My Bone is Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. I've been using Microsoft Office Home and Pupil (32bit) for 7 years at present on this computer.

Terminal month I encountered an outcome where Microsoft Word stopped launching. For a carve up second I see the loading circle and so nothing. This happens both when clicking on the program itself and when double clicking documents. I get no error letters. Excel, OneNote, & PowerPoint launch without issue.

When attempting to uninstall or modify, I get a message stating:

A required C:\Users\admin\AppData\Local\Temp\Setup00001c34\OSETUP.DLL cannot be loaded. This may indicate that the file is missing or damaged.

(The Setup binder number varies.)

I just received a product cardinal when I bought Word, so I downloaded an exe from Microsoft. When attempting to install I get this:

A required C:\Users\admin\AppData\Local\Temp\OWPACE7.tmp\Updates\OSETUP.DLL cannot be loaded. This may indicate that the file is missing or damaged.

This is the second time I've had this issue in the past month. The kickoff time I had permit a friend of mine clean upward a programme from off my computer and he deleted the registry keys in association with it. I then proceeded to install a programme called Dayon!. I tend to go on my User Account Command messages turned off since I have a game that always prompts me. Installing Dayon! triggered an Action Center bulletin stating that in order to turn on my User Account Command I would take to restart the estimator. I idea it odd only just manually turned it back off again.

It wasn't until a few days afterward I discovered that Word wouldn't launch. After trying multiple things that failed, I did a system restore. Give-and-take didn't work right abroad merely I was able to run a repair finally and all was well. I causeless something had gone wrong during the registry cleanup.

Most a week ago I went to use Dayon! and realized it was no longer on my system. Duh to me, equally I had forgotten that the system restore took me dorsum earlier I installed information technology. And then I installed information technology again (same User Account Command nonsense). I also installed Jitsi (which I take installed 2 or 3 other times in the past and have had no known problems from it). I had Word open earlier that day and the next mean solar day when I went to utilise it, same problem; it no longer launches. Unfortunately I don't have a arrangement restore early enough to undo it this time.

(Note: My friend also keeps User Account Command off and installed Dayon! on his Win10 but he has not had any issues and did not get the same User Account Control thing I did. I as well installed Dayon! on my Win8.1 which has User Account Control on. I did not have the same problem on that laptop either and all Microsoft Office 2022 programs launch fine on it including Word.)

Things I tried to practice to gear up Word:

  • Uninstall Dayon! (only in case)
  • Uninstall/Change Microsoft Office - Error message noted higher up.
  • Download and Install Microsoft Office - Error message noted above.
  • Download and replace file version 14.0.4755.chiliad of osetup.dll that goes in the All Users file path.
  • Download and replace file version fourteen.0.7211.5000 of osetup.dll that goes in Part Setup Controller.
  • Run Windows Update (which included some updates for Microsoft Office).
  • Download kb4022208 but: "The update is already installed on this system." Was worth a shot.
  • Run sfc scannow (concluding ditch endeavour).
  • Extracted from Part HS 2022 exe download and replaced all files in C:\MSOCache\All Users\{90140000-003D-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}-C
  • Extracted from Function HS 2022 exe download and replaced osetupui.dll file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\OFFICE14\Part Setup Controller\Office.en-u.s.
  • Extracted from Office HS 2022 exe download and replaced OSETUP.dll file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\OFFICE14\Part Setup Controller
  • Extracted from Function HS 2022 exe download and replaced ose.exe file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\Source Engine

I've scoured the net and oasis't had any luck finding a fix. I'k hoping someone hither might have an idea. I'd prefer to avert freshly installing Windows vii if I can help it.

Cheers for any and all suggestions!

There may be a conflict with AV software. Have yous attempted to uninstall Office in Safety Mode?

If information technology doesn't uninstall in Safe Mode have you come across the Part Uninstaller in your searches?

https://www.thewindowsclub.com/fix-cannot-uninstall-office-2003-2007-or-2010-from-control-console

In the above link there is a Microsoft link to a program called SetupProd_OffScrub.exe

Thank you for your reply! I haven't had a risk to tinker around with it until today. Sadly information technology didn't fix my trouble.

Attempting to uninstall or change in Safety Mode yields the same mistake. I used the SetupProd_OffScrub.exe to uninstall Office. It worked. However, attempting to install Office once again is giving me:

A required

C:\Users\admin\AppData\Local\Temp\OWP207A.tmp\Updates\OSETUP.DLL cannot be loaded. This may indicate that the file is missing or damaged.

I need OneNote so I'll be doing a system restore to get Part back.

I don't know for sure what's causing this, simply an old colleague of mine warned me never to install two version of Office on the aforementioned Windows install. He then warned me that if you installed one version of whatever Role component (incl. all of Office) and some other version, you could terminate up with..."chaos", I believe were his words.

He said that the problems were deep in the registry and weren't cleaned using the Office scrub programs. I'd call up about reinstalling Windows if all else failed. And I rarely advise that except as a final resort.

Well, it seems I've invited chaos and so. I'm now having problems with all Office programs. Unlike Word (which just doesn't react to beingness clicked on) PowerPoint, OneNote, and Excel practise actually launch simply they're unusable.

Upon startup I go the "A required C:\Users\admin\AppData\Local\Temp\Setup00001c34\OSETUP.DLL cannot be loaded." error. The plan opens and I get information technology again. Then information technology closes. One fourth dimension OneNote even said information technology couldn't verify the license (but merely the i time did it land that; subsequent launches are merely marked as unlicensed at the superlative). I also have never attempted to install Microsoft Part 64bit and so a fiddling odd to meet a configuration for it pop up.

I approximate that's that for Office. Anyone know if scrubbing information technology and running windows repair install would assist clean Office from registry? Needing my computer for work and family, I don't currently have the time to spare reinstalling and re-setting up vii years worth of stuff just because Part is out. I'd be amend off installing another program that can read Word documents and leaving it at that. Or manually ridding the estimator registry of everything involving Office (which sounds messy and risky). I guess it goes to show I should've kept an image back up instead of focusing purely on backing upwards my files.

Thanks for the info Shplad!

I'm not sure a repair install would solve the problem as it keeps all programs and data intact.

If you want something that can open discussion documents without a problem have a expect at FreeOffice.

FYI, Windows 7 support ends Jan fourteen of 2022. After that there will no more security updates so I would not recommend you use the calculator for things like cyberbanking or business.

I concord with JohnC_21 that I wouldn't be staying with Windows 7 much longer. If y'all do, exist aware of the risks he presented.

As for reinstalling, my thoughts:

Accept yous tried whatever of the fixes people have posted:

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/function/en-Usa/2af508fd-eff1-4003-98ca-666485fb9840/osetupdll-cannot-exist-loaded-role-2010

https://www.dll-mistake-fixes.com/remove-osetupdll-missing-validating-error/

In that location are more, I just can't work at this right now. I'm working on a customer PC right now.

- Consider installing a free office suite mentioned to a higher place (even just as a temporary mensurate), until you go this figured out.

- If you lot don't get it figured out, there will likely be no other option just to practice a make clean reinstall of Windows.

- Years of feel as a tech. would lead me to believe that reinstalling, while a bit time-consuming, will be likely to fix the problem and accept less time than trying to figure this out. I'm basing this on my Googling of the problem. There don't seem to be whatsoever reliable solutions for this.
